In Episode 71, we explore the emotional undercurrents that often go unnoticed but heavily impact our ability to learn a language — insecurity, guilt, unworthiness, tension, and those jittery feelings that creep in when we're learning something difficult. Supported by research in neuroscience and psychology, I explain how emotional tension activates the brain’s stress response, impairing memory and disrupting attention. But when we recognize these emotions as valid signals — not flaws — we begin the process of healing and learning at the same time.

I was very sick and I didn’t know it. A couple of weeks ago, my heart hurt so much. I am a very passionate person and this has happened before when I am very excited about something, a new journey, a new career, expectations, experiences, …., however this time it was different. I was at work, and couldn’t breathe well. My heart was throbbing very fast days before but I was worried but not so much and reasoned it to other causes. Therefore, after work I went to see a doctor. At that time, I could barely breathe and felt so tired, the doctor was worried sick and asked me of previous symptoms. I told him everything I could remember, he diagnosed previous some other studies and the treatment started fastly… until I was so shocked, I’m still recovering, but I’ve started easing back into work.
