Do you believe people are born with a certain amount of ability and intelligence? Or do you think these things can be changed through effort and education?

Your answers to these questions may decide how well you chase your own goals in life!

Researchers in Norway looked at over 1,500 people aged 13 to 77.

Participants filled out a survey asking them questions about how much they think people's abilities and intelligence can grow with effort and education.

They also filled out two more surveys: one asking how passionate they are about the things they are interested in, and one asking how persistent — and consistent — they are in chasing their goals.

For example, they were asked how much they agree with statements such as, "I use a lot of time on the projects I like," for passion, and "I finish whatever I begin," for persistence.

The researchers then looked at the people who got the 5% highest and lowest scores for belief in people's ability to grow.

It was found that those with the greatest belief in growth also had significantly higher scores in passion and persistence.

Interestingly, although 60% of all the study participants were women, in the group with the lowest belief in growth almost 60% were men.

"The belief in growth is important for large parts of our society," said Hermundur Sigmundsson, one of the study's authors. "This is true for school, sports, work and family life."

The authors also pointed to other studies that have found that it's possible to help people believe in personal growth — particularly as children — and that this can result in greater persistence.

Looking at their own results, the researchers said it can be argued that belief in your ability to grow may be important for both passion and persistence.

However, they also noted that it could also be that passion, perseverance and belief in growth all support each other.

艾子笑着问道:“真的吗?有那样长的肉吗?” 毛空急忙说:“噢，那就是长二十丈。”艾子仍不相信。

他又改口:“一定是十丈长了。” 艾子说:“你说的那只鸭是谁家养的?你说的那块肉掉在了什么地方?” 毛空支支吾吾说不出来，只好说:“我是在路上听别人说的。”

后来人们就用“道听途说”这个成语指不可靠的，没有根据的传闻。

AI Zi smiled and asked, "Really? Is there REALLY such long meat?" Mao Kong hurriedly said, "Oh, that's twenty feet long, then." AI Zi still doesn't believe it.
He changed his words again: "It must be 200 feet long." AI Zi said, "Who raised the duck you said? Where did the meat you said fall?" Maokong hesitated and couldn't say it, so he had to say, "I listened to others on the road."
Later, people used the idiom "dào tīng tú shuō" to refer to unreliable and groundless rumors.

Now the Internet is so developed that we get all kinds of information online, some of which are not true. We need to have our own ideas and correctly judge the authenticity of those information. Don't listen to hearsay, otherwise it will become spreading rumors.

La Navidad en México es un momento especial para millones de familias que se reúnen para participar en diversas tradiciones. Cada año, las festividades nos permiten sumergirnos en un sinfín de luces, sabores y sonidos que nos traen esperanza y nos recuerdan la importante herencia cultural de nuestro país.

Esta temporada nos brinda la oportunidad de promover los lazos de nuestra comunidad y vivir los principales valores de la Navidad: la unión familiar, la gratitud y la paz.
Desde el inicio de la temporada navideña, el 16 de diciembre con las posadas, hasta el día de la Epifanía el 6 de enero, la alegría se respira en las calles adornadas con luces navideñas y flores de nochebuena.

Las posadas se llevan a cabo a lo largo de nueve días en los que los fieles católicos recrean el peregrinaje de María y José a Belén para el nacimiento de Jesús. Cada noche, las familias entonan cantos y villancicos acerca de la celebración; participan en las pastorelas navideñas y realizan actividades, como romper la colorida piñata con siete picos.

Rellena de frutas y dulces, la piñata representa los siete pecados capitales y, al romperse, simboliza la victoria de la fe sobre ellos, así como la dicha de vivir en la gracia y los valores de la Navidad.
La Nochebuena es el corazón de la celebración navideña en México. Cada 24 de diciembre, las familias se reúnen para festejar el nacimiento de Jesús, agradecer las bendiciones recibidas durante el año y disfrutar alrededor de la mesa de exquisitos platillos típicos.
