Matching Features and Matching Sentence Endings | IELTS #084
描述
Level B2 (approx. band 5.5-6.5) · Academic and General Training
In matching features, you match statements to a list of options, often researchers and their findings. In matching sentence endings, you complete the first half of a sentence by choosing the right second half from a list. Learners often match a name to the wrong finding because several people are discussed in one paragraph.
In this episode:
• Matching features: the format
• Matching features: tracking who said what
• Matching sentence endings: grammar fit
• Paraphrase in both tasks
• Reading lab
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
Key points:
• Matching features links ideas to people or things. Expect paraphrase, and read the instructions on reuse.
• Find every mention of each name, follow the pronouns, and notice who disagrees with whom.
• Use grammar to shortlist, then use the passage to decide.
• The answer is the same idea, not the same words.
