3. a I'm just joking. But I do like your running shoes.

4.  a. I only run from the police. haha. No, I'm not a runner but I do like to swim.
b. Oh yeah I love swimming too.  I swim twice a week.

5. a.  No way. Where do you swim?
b. I swim at the YMCA downtown.

6. a. Me too.  But I've never seen you there.
    b. I swim at 6am in the morning before work.

7. a. Oh, I see. I swim at 5pm just after work. So  that's why we've never crossed paths.
     b. I'm usually still sitting in traffic at 5pm on my way home.

8. a. Sorry,  what's your name again?
b. My name is Sarah.

在中国，有句俗话说：开门七件事，柴米油盐酱醋茶（chai2 mi3 you2 yan2 jiang4 cu4 cha2, lit. Firewood,rice,oil,salt,vinegar,soy and tea）。柴是柴火，有了他就可以生火取暖，做饭。米就是大米这些粮食(liang2shi, grain)，油和盐，都是为了做饭可以更香，酱和醋呢，是中国人发明的调料(tiao2liao4,flavouring)，他们发现细菌(xi4jun1,germ)和粮食在一起，发酵(fa1jiao4,ferment)后，会变成各种好吃的东西。有了他们，中国菜才会那么好吃。 最后一样，茶，过去，这可是只有客人来了才能拿出来的东西，不便宜的。回头一看，中国人早上起床打开门最重要的七件事，全部都和吃有关系，看来吃是中国非常重要的文化了。
