职业教师IELTS LISTENING TIP
Did you hear the first answer—or the final answer?
In IELTS Listening, speakers often correct themselves or change their plans. The first piece of information may be a distractor.
For example:
“Let’s meet on Thursday… Actually, I have an appointment then. Friday would be better.”
The correct answer is Friday, not Thursday.
Listen carefully for words such as actually, but, instead, sorry, and rather. They often signal that the information is about to change.
Try it: “The ticket costs £15—sorry, that’s the online price. It’s £18 at the entrance.”
How much does the ticket cost at the entrance?
