Is khmer tonal language?

No, Khmer is not a tonal language. However, it does contain sounds that we don’t have in English (and many other European languages).

No it's not tonal. Spoken Khmer be quite easy to learn, however daily vernacular in Phnom Penh is quick and uses many slang phrases and the pronunciation of common words is pushed together, thus the common sounds you hear are informal.
