*I* was very tired *because* I climbed ten flights of stairs.
Just one fix "because" shouldn't start a new sentence here. It connects the reason to the result, so both ideas belong in one sentence: "I was tired because..." Everything else is perfectly natural. Ten flights of stairs is no joke! 😄
