When talking about an animal, can you use 他/她? Or are they only called 它?

Well, if you intend to use personification in written cases, you can say 她/他 when refering to an animal😊

In formal situations, we only use ”它” cuz ”它” is used when we talk about all the things apart from humans. However, I’ve seen lots of people using “男孩” ”女孩” when they talk about their pets.
