Greetings! I'm Ismail. I was born in Geneva, Switzerland, grew up in New York City, and later moved to Australia for my Bachelor's (Canberra) and Master's (Sydney). I’m a native speaker of both English and Indonesian, with professional experience in media and communications, public relations, IT, and international organizations.
I’m an expressive and communicative person who enjoys discussing travel, history, technology, politics, movies, and pop culture. I believe English, as a global lingua franca, opens doors—and everyone has something to gain from mastering it.
I studied in English honors in high school and have extensive experience proofreading and revising writing, from academic essays to professional documents.
My teaching style is flexible and adaptable. My goal is to create a relaxed, comfortable environment where you feel confident speaking English—whether in casual conversations, public speaking, or professional settings.
I’m always open to your ideas. We can discuss articles, analyze texts, or simply have engaging conversations. I’ll also provide corrections to help you improve naturally.

I needed to improve my fluency in speaking English and prepare for my future job. in each lesson Ismail brought up interesting conversation topics.He also challenged and motivated me. Every lesson he made notes and sent them to me so I could practice during the week and prepare for our next lesson. He also provided many valuable tips and exercises to broaden my communication skills. The lessons with Ismail are funny but also very productive. I definitely improved my English and became more confident and fluent and learned many new vocabulary, idioms and expressions. It was always really easy to communicate with him in case I had to reschedule the lessons. He is always on time and well prepared. He is an excellent teacher and I definitely will schedule new lessons. I absolutely recommend Ismail as tutor!
