Hello! I’m David, a UK-based teacher who helps learners speak clearer, more confident English.
As well as teaching general English, I specialise in British pronunciation and professional communication so you can sound more natural in conversation and at work.
I’m CertTESOL qualified with over 15 years of international experience, having lived and taught in South Korea, Italy, and Brazil.
Outside the classroom, I’m a keen guitar player and I run a YouTube quiz channel. I also enjoy reading, listening to music, and when the weather is nice, walking in the British countryside.
While we focus seriously on improving your English, I also believe lessons should be enjoyable and engaging. I aim to create a relaxed environment where you feel comfortable speaking, making mistakes, and improving step by step.
I have a strong interest in how English works, and not only its grammar and vocabulary, but also its pronunciation, sound production, connected speech, and intonation. This helps me explain clearly what is happening in your speech and how to improve it.
I’m also committed to ongoing professional development so I can continue bringing effective and up-to-date teaching methods to my lessons.
My lessons are divided into three focused streams:
1. British English Pronunciation Coaching: A deep dive into phonology. We cover vowel/consonant precision, the Schwa, word/sentence stress, and connected speech to help you sound more natural.

English TeacherIn this role, I taught English to groups of teenage students from overseas, and adults who were attending daily classes. The types of classes I taught were general English and exam preparation for the FCE, CAE and IELTS tests.
2016 - 2016
English TeacherA short, 3 month, teaching job in the town of Busalla, located near Genoa. Here, I taught a range of levels and ages, including children, teenagers, young adults and older folks. This job included teaching general English, and exam preparation classes for KET, PET, FCE and CAE and IELTS exams.
2015 - 2015
English TeacherIn this job, I taught the English in Action weekly course in various European cities. The lessons included a mix of materials designed by English in Action, and lessons designed by myself and other teachers.
2009 - 2011
English TeacherMy very first teaching job! In this job, I taught the GnB syllabus of English language learning to children and teenagers. I also tested and wrote monthly progress reports for 150 students.
