Over the last couple months, I have been doing self-study for Dari and I felt it was time to start putting it all into action in conversation. This was my first time meeting with Waheed and it was amazing! Sometimes I can be shy about practicing my target languages, especially with new people, but Waheed was very supportive, encouraging, and most of all, patient. During my lessons, I really want to get the most out of it by aiming to stay in the target language as much as possible and only a few times, we resorted to English, or other languages, which was my fault, but Waheed was good at using Dari to explain things if I didn't understand. He kept the conversation going and put me in plenty of situations to create my own sentences. I'm not good at choosing what to talk about so it's really helpful for me when I have someone "forcing" me to talk (in a good way, of course!). I left class today feeling more confident in my speaking and I want to continue that! besiyar tashakr, Waheed!

Wahid is a great teacher, he is adaptable to the lessons and to the student. I enjoy the lessons very much, they are very enriching to my language learning.

I just finished a lesson package with Wahid and I’ve gotten so much value from our lessons! He has helped me improve my skills and confidence in Dari a lot. He can always keep a conversation going or if I don’t have anything to talk about, he will somehow get a conversation started…Even after 10+ lessons! I also feel like I get a balance of both listening and speaking during our lessons. I plan to book more lessons (probably another lesson package) with Wahid in the near future.

Even after 3 months of classes, Wahid has not run out of topics to talk to me about. The progress is steady. He always remembers words and phrases he has taught me in the past and finds ways to naturally weave them into our conversation. I is also always ready to answer deep grammatical questions, if they arise. I cannot recommend him enough.

After a short break from italki, I’m back taking lessons from Wahid again for conversation practice. I went with another lesson package because I really feel like I get a lot out of our lessons and he has really played a big part in helping me improve my conversation skills. I highly recommend Wahid to anyone that wants to improve their speaking and listening skills for Dari conversation. Awkward silent moments never seem to happen in our lessons…he is great at keeping a conversation going or open a new topic.

Today was a good lesson, we talked mostly about political things and then some other random topics. Both Wahid and I, have noticed my progress in Dari over time. Once again, I came out of the lesson feeling even more confident than before ⭐️
