I come from Scotland and am a native English speaker. I have a CELTA teaching qualification and have experience teaching students from many countries. I am also an intermediate German learner and have significant experience using Italki as a learner. I love discussing a wide variety of topics and can't wait to help you with your learning journey. I have a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree with Distinction in Fine Art. Currently, I study Civil and Environmental Engineering (BEng). I am passionate about making learning fun, engaging and sustainable. My lessons are a supportive environment, where students can gain confidence in their English language skills. I am friendly, approachable and a good conversationalist. I believe it is important to develop different teaching techniques for each student. As a language learner, I understand the importance of keeping lessons interesting and I am always developing new ways of learning. In our lessons, I like to give students the choice of how structured or relaxed they want the class to be. I can provide classes where we work on grammar, vocabulary, and skills like reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Alternatively, we can simply have a casual conversation while I give you corrections. I also enjoy using videos or articles as discussion topics, which helps build vocabulary and confidence.

I think Niamh is an excellent teacher. She can tailor the courses according to my personal needs. She is very friendly, and I always feel totally relaxed in her class. I really hope I can keep taking her lessons continuously.

I always feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease in our classes. The atmosphere is very natural and pleasant. She always takes the initiative to start conversations and share lots of authentic English expressions with me. She also patiently teaches me new vocabulary and useful phrases. We often talk about topics we are both interested in, which makes learning enjoyable and effective. Besides, her teaching is well-organized and well-planned. I really appreciate her teaching style and I have learned a lot from her.
