Time for a new beginning ? Learn Japanese with a friendly certified teacher and traveller !! Hello everyone, I am from Hokkaido in Japan. I have lived in the UK for more than two decades, with experience teaching Japanese in a local secondary school for 5 years, where I introduced Japanese culture and traditions along with the Japanese language into my lessons. I have recently become a certified teacher. I love animals, nature and yoga, all the simple things in life because less is more. I would like to meet lots of people from around the world. I am reliable, conscientious and determined to assist you to learn to your fullest potential. When learners need help, I am someone who is patient and caring to support my students every step of the way, no matter how difficult it is. My goal as a teacher is to help my students improve to the best of their ability however large or small the progression. Persistence is the key. Hopefully my friendly manner and positivity as a certified teacher will help guide you to become more fluent in Japanese. Please feel free to ask me anything if you have any questions. I would like learners to focus on listening and speaking practices from dialogue for beginners which are the colloquial every day phrases used in conversations in Japan, rather than learning formal academic phrases from general text books. I will use pictures, whiteboard and some resources along with a lesson. I am flexible with my students' goals and preferred method of learning; textbooks (Genki ) are also available. I teach in both English and Japanese.

Rie is a fantastic teacher. I am gearing up for a trip to Japan and she is teaching me functional Japanese that will be useful for day to day interactions. She is patient and teaches at a pace that suits me. Would highly recommend!
