I'm Levi, a native Dutch speaker from near Hoorn. My accent is quite similar to the standard, like that of most (young) people in the region. Although the local dialect is also fascinating! I'm currently living in Spain for a few months, with the goal of improving my Spanish. I've been learning Spanish for the past three years, and in that process I've learned about various ways of teaching, what works and what doesn't, how to keep learning fun, and much more. In a lot of ways, Spanish was my way into the world of linguistics and language learning. I'm studying history, with some linguistics courses on the side. In my free time, I mainy play the bass guitar, read and write.

I have been tutoring since the start of 2025. In that time I've given more than 100 lessons. Most people taking lessons with me are settling in the Netherlands, or are moving to the country for a job. My approach is focused on diverse, real-life topics and conversational skills. In addition to my experience on iTalki, I have years of experience learning languages myself, using all kinds of methods. I am available to teach you in English or Spanish.

To be able to speak a language, you need to understand the structures that make it up, and stay motivated. In my opinion, you don't get there just by memorizing boring conjugation tables and tense names. Instead, I hope to make every part of the language "click" for you through lots of practice, understandable examples, and clear rules. I will help adult students of any level.

Levi is a supernice teacher. I am quite nervous to speak dutch so, I use him as a conversation partner and as a way to ask questions about grammar or words etc. Basically every session he find a topic or a video we can talk about and, I notice that he notices what I find interesting and tries to find topics that i find fun to talk about which makes him a very proactive teacher and helps me keep my motivation to learn dutch. I really appreciate that and will continue to use his services for the foreseeable future. Thanks again for all your lessons.
