I'm Verena, 30 years old and I'm a German teacher from Austria. I'm currently living in Austria, but I have also lived in France, Bosnia&Hercegovina and New Zealand.
I'm new-ish to italki but I've been teaching German as a foreign language full time since finishing my Master's in 2020. One of the reasons why I became a teacher is that I love learning languages myself. I speak English, French, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and I'm currently leaching myself a bit of Italian. This is why I'm perfectly able to relate to any struggles you might have and give you the best learning advice.
Besides languages, I love nature, travelling, yoga, dancing, literature, arts, outdoor activities, food & cats!教学经验
I have over 5 years of teaching experience at different institutions (university, adult education, high school), from absolute beginners to nearly natives, teaching both group and individual classes, in person as well as online.
I am a certified Academic expert of German as a foreign/second language (University of Graz, one year university course) and hold a Bachelor's degree in German philology and one in English and American Studies, as well as a Master's Degree in English and American Studies.
I am a certified ÖSD examiner (Austrian German certificate) from levels A1-B2. 我提供的课程和我的教学风格
I will prepare my classes depending on your goal and level. If you have no idea of what your level is, don't worry, due to my experience and my studies I am able to get an idea of where you are standing after our first lesson and then we can take it from there.
My classes are a mix of everything - speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocab, discussing learning strategies - because all of these aspects are crucial in learning a language. However, if I had to choose one focus, I would probably say it's communication, as in the end, this is the main goal of language. But all the aspects are interconnected, e.g. by speaking, you improve your vocab; studying vocab will help you speak!我的教学资料

I’m so happy I chose Verena to study German. She’s incredibly friendly, open, and easy to communicate with. She always checks whether everything is clear, and if something isn’t, she supports me with extra materials and explanations. She’s also genuinely encouraging. Speaking German is not easy for me as I’m a perfectionist but with Verena I never feel embarrassed. There’s something about her joyful, supportive aura that makes it easy to try, make mistakes, and keep going. I’m very satisfied, and I always look forward to our lessons.
