I once spent a couple years living in Norway, and my secret dream is to move there again. Professionally, I have over a decade of experience of teaching and tutoring in a variety of fields. I have published translations of German and Latin poetry and presented on student success in second-language learning in the university setting. I'm fascinated by languages, linguistics, and instruction. I have a long history of teaching in a variety of capacities. I have taught in the university and high-school classroom, tutored independently, taught English as a second language, and worked as a university learning specialist for neurodiverse students and students with learning disabilities. I think that patience, empathy, and enthusiasm are some of the most important characteristics that a teacher can have, and I believe that when I meet my students where they are, we can achieve great things.
