Hoyeon

I’m really enjoying learning Korean, and I can clearly see how much progress I’ve made since starting. The lessons are thoughtfully prepared and designed to stretch me just enough – challenging but never overwhelming – which keeps me motivated. There’s a great balance between reading, speaking, listening, vocabulary, and grammar, and the homework is always varied and reinforces what we’ve covered. I really appreciate is how personalised each session is. They match my level of understanding and aim to improve the areas where I’m struggling, and the lesson content is adjusted accordingly. I never feel like we’re just going through a textbook – it’s all tailored to help me improve and gain confidence. The explanations are always clear, and I feel comfortable asking questions, even when I’m unsure or make mistakes (of which I make quite a few!) I’ve noticed that my confidence in speaking has grown a lot, and I’m starting to understand more and more. I always look forward to my lessons.

Hoyeon-shi is a great teacher. He is very good at explaining grammar in a simple way, and he makes you feel at ease when speaking.

As always, 선생님 and me had good conversations including the grammar points which I am recently working on and he is explaining everything patiently and well. It’s always enjoyable for me and I am already looking forward to my next lesson :)

I always feel comfortable to try and make mistakes in lessons, which has really helped my learning. Each session is engaging and full of interesting insights into how native Korean speakers actually use the language, including the origins of phrases. I'm learning so much and genuinely look forward to every lesson!
