Hi, I’m Robert—a New Yorker turned global English coach with a tech-savvy edge! My IT career and 11+ years of teaching across three continents (Asia, Europe, Latin America) help me tailor lessons for professionals and travelers alike. Fluent in the challenges of language learning (I’ve tackled Thai and Spanish!). I specialize in practical English for tech, business, and everyday confidence.

I’m an engaging, fun, and patient teacher with a strong foundation in grammar and diverse teaching methodologies, thanks to my background as a TEFL trainer and teacher assessor.
My teaching journey began in Thailand, where I taught English for math and science in a primary school. I later worked with Thai university students at a language center.

Level 3 Teacher Assessor - The Teacher Trainer Ltd. - 2019It was a self study course with a writing assignment on the theory that underpins the assessment of teacher trainees. It had to be completed in 30 days.
It enabled my employer’s program, SEE TEFL, to obtain certification from TQUK, the Training Qualifications for UK organizations and it enabled me to obtain skills to assess new EFL teachers.

Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL) - SEETEFL - Chiang Mai, Thailand - 2014Trainees were required to study for 120 hours of onsite classroom skills training that included 6 observed teaching practices with real students at a range of real schools.
It enabled me to be a successful teacher in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. It gave me practical skills training, language awareness training and cultural awareness training.

Computer Programming Diploma - The Chubb Institute - 1995I was required to be a full time computer programming student for six months. It had 840 hours of classroom instruction. It enabled students to obtain an entry-level position as a COBOL computer language programmer.

Adult ESL TeacherTeaching online with EF gave me the experience of teaching English to people from all over the world. It also showed me that online teaching can be more effective than some classroom environments. I taught adult learners for both private and group lessons. I was the Service Award winner for August 2021 and earned a supplemental fee every month

TEFL Teacher TrainerTeaching grammar and learning methods to native speaking trainees gave me much more of an understanding of effective ESL lessons. It also gave me more experience in assessing ESL lessons and providing constructive feedback.

Full-time ESL classroom teacherThe focus of the curriculum was on speaking skills, so it helped me develop activities to increase fluency. They were young adult students, so it taught me how to improve my teaching to more mature learners.

Full-time ESL classroom teacherThis was my first EFL teaching position, it helped with classroom management and creating productive games for young learners. I taught English for Math and Science to 1st thru 6th grade students. I also was the main English teacher for the 2nd graders which I had to teach reading, writing, listening and speaking.

I also developed and managed websites, social networks, and Google Apps systems. In addition, I hired and trained telemarketers for fundraising campaigns and trained office staff on software. I also made direct fundraising calls, including supporters and cold calls, which led to the development of a base of over 200 contributors annually.
