María Eugenia is a great Spanish teacher. She has helped me steadily improve my conversational Spanish to the point where I can talk freely about almost anything. I’ve been taking a class from her each week. Before each class she has provided one or more interesting texts for discussion, ranging from ancient Greek philosophy to the latest US presidential debate. She has quickly learned the weak points of my Spanish and gently, but firmly, reminds me when I make mistakes in grammar. I have studied various languages with various teachers, but never have made such rapid progress as I have with her help.

I've been having classes with Maria Eugenia an hour a week for the past several years. My Spanish has improved tremendously. A few days before each class, she sends me interesting reading about one or two very interesting topics. During class we discuss the reading. Most of the time is spent on what I need most, namely become comfortable with talking about almost anything in Spanish. Each hour is entirely in Spanish. I still make mistakes, but much less than before. She gently but regularly corrects my mistakes. The result has been my obtaining a level of fluency that I had never hoped to have.
