I have been working with Douglas for 4 months and without fail, week after week, he puts his best foot forward. If you’re looking to find a tutor that is 100% invested in your success & gives generously of his time, effort and talents, look no further. Douglas is your person. I have received so much positive reinforcement from Douglas, & this has made a tremendous difference. Nothing about how he teaches is contrived or cookie-cutter formulated. He is focused on you the learner as an individual & with every passing class, we carefully comb through areas needing to be polished up & fine tune the learning process together. In closing out our weekly class today, he mentioned how I went from being a person who did not have much belief in her Portuguese speaking abilities to a person that knows she can speak it, & you know what? I took a three-year break from practicing Portuguese, and I’m really happy to be back learning with Douglas. He’s incredibly patient, and whenever I don’t understand something, he always finds the right words to explain it in a way that makes sense to me. His positive, uplifting energy makes every lesson enjoyable. I’m grateful to be studying with him again!
