Starting with no previous knowledge, I have now completed 100 sessions with Ciya. She also taught me the handwritten forms of the Malayalam script with a digital writing pad, something that is very important, yet few teachers of languages with a non-European writing system have done for me. Learning Malayalam requires time, and Ciya has always been very patient, friendly, and helpful with me. She also explains about Kerala culture and traditions. Regardless of your language level, I can warmly recommend studying with Ciya. She is one of the gems teaching here on iTalki.

She taught me how to read and write the script, understand basic vocabulary and grammar, and she has shared interesting aspects of Kerala's culture along the way.
