I lived in Japan for 20 years, studied and mastered Japanese language and worked as the professional translator and interpreter. Skype chose to present some challenges today but Miya kept us moving well with no video. We spoke as much as possible in Japanese and used this informal lesson to get a feel for my level. Miya spoke always in Japanese and added English only when necessary to keep the right framework for learning. Miya has some very good ideas about how to start and study without constantly repeating beginner items that do not add to the learning. I quite enjoyed our introductory lesson.
