I am a lifelong learner and an expat living in Indonesia with my Chinese-Indonesian wife and two dogs. We have just become proud grandparents. I am a painter and a writer of 13 books so far, available on my Author Page at Amazon. They have been very well reviewed. .My activities include going to the gym, swimming, and playing chess online, I study Indonesian language two days a week via Skype with teachers in Bali and I study Spanish and French on iTalki.教学经验
I have over thirty years of experience as an international teacher. I am a lifelong leraner and I do my best to pass that love of learning on to my students. Some students have been with me for over eight years. Advanced students benefit from discussions about many topics. Recently I have started discussing essays from the Atlantic Monthly, The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, and The New York Times. I explain the vocabulary and the meaning the writer is communicating. My interest is in creating a continuing online friendship with advanced students. It is valuable for both of us!我提供的课程和我的教学风格
My teaching style is personal and proactive. I engage every student and get to know them. I basically use the ESA (engage, study, activate) approach I studied in my TEFl certification class. I am also certified in Business English with TEFL. To begin I have the students make a short introductory speech so I can evaluate their level of competency. Then, I identify problems and begin to address them. I believe in a combined approach, emphasizing a good deal of speaking practice but also grammar exercises and homework. I expect students to make an effort and have at least a working knowledge of English. Their commitment to learning is the most important quality I look for in them.我的教学资料
