Hugo does a great job getting me to practice my Portuguese as much as possible. He was able to easily identify which ways I learn best and has structured my lessons as such. Not only do I learn so much but he makes it so fun as well! These classes are a highlight of my week!

I enjoy my lessons with Hugo. He is patient with me and good at providing the right amount of feedback to keep the conversation moving forward. We discuss all kinds of topics from our daily life and more. He is very flexible and we have been working together to develop a custom plan for my learning. I would definitely recommend him!

Hugo was a great instructor! I really wanted to learn to speak better and our conversations made it very easy. He was easy to talk to, an interesting person, and also patient with my difficulties with the language. He didn’t give me the answer sometimes but made me work to understand, and I appreciated that because I felt that was more realistic to speaking to people in the real world. For those who want to improve their Portuguese speaking and listening abilities I highly recommend Hugo. He was great!

I've been taking Portuguese lessons with Hugo for a while now, and have developed from someone who was continually stumbling over basic vocabulary and conjugations into a much more fluent speaker of the language, which I have come to enjoy learning much more in the process. Hugo is an innovative teacher who is not afraid to depart from more mundane and repetitive methods of language learning, which means you always feel involved in your own learning and excited by the content of his classes. It also helps a great deal that he speaks very good English, and so is able to provide you with detailed explanations of the similarities and differences between the two languages, rapidly improving your fluency and ease of use in Portuguese. His deep interest in and knowledge of Brazilian culture means you come to learn a great deal about the nation itself as well, beyond its language. He comes highly recommended?
