I've taken many courses with Issei, and I can say that he is a tutor with strong beliefs. His courses provide a great opportunity to deeply understand social insight, sub-culture and history of Japan, which is very inspirational and beyond exam-oriented content. The teaching methods are flexible and designed for each student, supported by the reading list and other materials depending on the topic. His commitment to education could be the enlightenment of language and culture. Also, he is good at brewing coffee. ☕️

Wow! Just wow! Such a professional, enthusiastic and experienced teacher is really rare to find! New to italki, but he has a vast experience of teaching on-line - and it shows. :) Moreover - he lived in Canada for a long time, his English is perfect and he understands both cultures completely. It says here he is a "community tutor" but, well, it must be just a matter of time until he get the professional badge - and raises the prices! ;) So - don't think twice - Issei is the best teacher for you - and for anyone! :)

Issei was recommended to me by a friend who knew someone who was super satisfied with Issei as his teacher. Already after my trail lesson I could totally understand why. Issei is an amazing teacher in every way. He is patient, supportive, motivating, ready to help at any time, also outside the lesson time, and just incredibly passionate about his job as a teacher. You can really see that he is teaching because he loves to help others learn or improve their Japanese and to meet new people. He is such lovely person and I am so happy I found Issei on Italki. I am so looking forward to my Japanese learning journey with him as my teacher :)

When I say something in Japanese, he answers starting with restating what I said with the most correct Japanese grammar, which is very useful! It's like how a presenter repeats an audience member's question just in case everyone else didn't hear it. When I say something in my native tongue, he also is quick to teach me new vocabulary and simple grammar points so I learn how to express the same idea in Japanese. He adapts it so that he isn't teaching me how exactly to say the same sentence in Japanese 1:1 but instead teaching me the simplest way to (1) get the same point across, and (2) be able to re-use what I was taught into other situations.

たけはら先生の授業には、本当にたくさんの良いところがあります！先生はとても優しい性格で、面白い冗談でいつも笑わせてくれます。 特に、たけはら先生の宿題コースはとても役立ちます。私の場合、「もっとスムーズに話せるようになりたい」という目標を伝えると、それに合わせて日記の宿題を進めてくださいました。たくさん日記を書き、先生に添削していただくことで、授業中には分かりにくい部分も具体的に説明してもらえました。そのおかげで、自分の日本語力が飛躍的に向上したと感じています。 本当に素晴らしい先生なので、ぜひたけはら先生のクラスを受けてみてください！
