Ria Zhang

Ria is my favourite teacher on italki! She is an amazing conversationalist and we haven't run out of things to talk about for 25 lessons so far. If you are looking for a positive and encouraging environment to practice your Chinese, Ria is the best!

Lovely patient knowledgeable teacher. Always have a bit of a laugh even when we might be discussing heavier topics. Almost 5 years now as her student and I still look forward to have lessons every week.

Teacher Ria is very good at offering topics which interest me. She offers correct vocabulary in a supportive learning environment. Today she showed me a Song era poem, encouraged me to use my limited knowledge of the Hanzi, then explained the meaning. This was a real gift.

Ria is fantastic. As language learners, practicing output is hard and basically the biggest reason to work with a tutor on iTalki, and Ria gets this. Ria is a great conversationalist and experienced. Above all, Ria's so patient, even in those moments where you spend 30 seconds trying to stutter out a semi-familiar sentence structure you want to practice.

I had a great time speaking with Ria in our first lesson. I am looking forward to continue learning with her. At the start, the conversational approach helped determine my current level of Chinese reading, writing, and speaking. She was very patient in listening to me as I pieced together responses in Chinese to her questions and guided me with corrections as needed. Overall, it was a very pleasant learning experience!

Teacher Ria listens patiently to my questions. She supports my attempts to explain what I want to say in Chinese. She then develops the conversation. I find she has great skill in leaving just enough time for me to try to refine my speech before she explains how to say things correctly. I feel more confident when I speak and am definitely learning more and more each session.
