Hello! My name is Laura and I am a fluent English speaking teacher who would love to help you improve your language skills! I grew up and currently live in Birmingham, in the West Midlands of England. I am a trained actor with a TEFL qualification (120 hours, completed with 98% accuracy.)
I have taught on iTalki for 3 and a half years. I run a successful Youtube channel where I create English lessons for an audience of over 245,000 subscribers. I can't wait to help you learn English!教学经验
I have been a teacher for many years, teaching singing, dancing and acting. I also achieved the highest possible grade in my English Literature A Level exams. I have taught children from the ages of five to eighteen in singing, acting and dancing for over five years, I am very experienced with creating engaging and varied lessons that are fun and interactive. As a teacher, I take the approach that fun is key. If you're not having fun, you won't want to continue with learning a new language. I want lessons to be easy, casual and a place where you can make mistakes and feel no pressure to get things right straight away. Having received extensive training in teaching English for foreign learners, I am well equipped with multiple techniques and teaching styles to make learning efficient and effective. TEFL - TEFL Graduate - 2019This was a 120 hour TEFL course, which consisted of multiple modules and culminated in a final exam. I learned in depth knowledge on the English Language and how it is best taught to foreign learners, how to plan a lesson, how to manage difficult students, how to keep techniques varied and engaging, how to problem solve, how to correct grammar and many other vital tools to help with my teaching.

Early Stages TeacherI worked as a teacher for children aged 4-7, spending our time together learning how to perform scripts, learn dances and bring life to music. As all of the children were at a key age for English speaking skills to develop, I would often work with them to improve pronunciation and learn new words whenever they came up! I would also have to create fun, varied and engaging lessons so that they never felt as though they were bored or 'at school'. I will use these skills while teaching with iTalki.
2012 - 2016
Teaching AssistantI spent four years teaching children from the ages of 4-18 in singing, dancing and acting. As I was still young when I first took on the role, I learned how to teach on the job. I started off by supervising the children while the other teachers took a class, and then progressed into holding classes of my own and directing performances to be put on at the end of term. This is where I learned how to engage a class, how to speak to students and how to keep calm under pressure.
2014 - 2016
English TeacherIn the years after completing my own GCSE exams and achieving the highest possible grades (A*'s), I decided to spend some time delivering private tutoring to those taking the same exams. I worked with students to master the English language and to use words in the most effective and powerful way.
