I specialise in helping professionals master advanced Business English. Before teaching I was a corporate lawyer, so my lessons aren’t just fluent, they’re commercially fluent. I’ve lectured in Business English at Chukyo University, taught executives at Japan’s top companies, and led the flagship school of the country’s largest language institute.

ECC Foreign Language InstituteI was the headteacher, at the flagship school, of the leading English language institute in Japan for 7 years. I taught English to adults online and in person.
2019 - 2021
Chukyo UniversityI lectured in business English focusing on all aspects of the English language including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading and writing. At the end of each semester my students gave a professional business presentation, in English, to their peers and invited guests.

The International Red CrossI taught business English to nurses who were being transferred to assist with international humanitarian projects. The lessons focused on issues such as COVID-19, women's rights and international humanitarian law.

LawyerI was a legal executive specialising in the defence of litigated claims. I represented banks, insurance companies and large multinational corporations.
The position required the highest possible standards of written and spoken communication in English. Each day I wrote more than a hundred professional letters and emails, negotiated with other lawyers, reported to executives, directors, CEO's and business owners and often gave speeches and made persuasive arguments in court.
