Izumi sensei is the best and a true pro! I’ve gotten so much more comfortable with my Japanese from speaking with her over the past couple years. She always engages with my topics of interest and asks questions as well as happy to discuss her own interests and daily life. Plus, her English is very natural, which really helps during explanations. I highly recommend her!

I enjoy my lessons with Izumi very much! We are doing lessons together since 11 months now once a week and I can really feel how my Japanese has improved which makes me very happy. She is always well organized, professional, motivating and just a fun person to be around.

I’ve had numerous lessons with other teachers and have now been taking classes with Izumi sensei regularly for over six months — and I genuinely look forward to every single lesson! I really appreciate the structured approach, with the focus on grammar coupled with speaking, listening and reading practices, which helps build a strong foundation. The lessons never feel dry or slow. Izumi sensei provides lots of practical examples connected to real-life conversations, writes down expressions and corrections. The homework is great for reinforcing the material. I’m also gaining a deeper appreciation and understanding of Japanese culture and cultural norms, which makes the lessons even more meaningful. Most importantly, Izumi sensei is personable and engaging, making every class something I genuinely enjoy. My only suggestion is to book classes in advance as the timeslots are filling up quickly!
