My Chinese name is Wang Yishan, and you can also call me Coral. I am a Chinese native speaker. I have a lot of hobbies such as reading books, playing table tennis, swimming, and walking. Reading books is my favorite because its a good relaxation and the most proper way to find peace of mind for me. I like many kinds of books, especially those about history and archaeology.
As a mandarin Chinese teacher with 3 years and over 4000 lessons of teaching experience, I am patient, considerate and dedicated in teaching. I enjoy every minute in the class, and I feel happy from the bottom of my heart when I see my students build up confidence in Chinese learning and make great progress.
My lessons would be designed according to the students' Chinese level and learning goals. For the beginners, I help them learn Chinese systematically including pinyin, characters, vocabulary and grammar; if they could speak something simple in Chinese or have the plans to come to China to live, work or travel, I would choose proper textbooks with different life situations, in which the most useful daily expressions would be taught and practiced; and for those who are in advanced level, my classes would be added with more knowledge about Chinese culture, history, and folk customs. Aside from that, I can also help prepare Chinese proficiency tests.我的教学资料

Coral is very skilled teacher and linguist. From the beginning I stated that I would like to focus on daily conversation. For this reason the lesson focusses on Mandarin conversation, even though I am only at HSK 2 level. It takes a lot of skill and patience on Coral's part to have a conversation with me, but she is happy to listen and guide. Because she is very skilled at English and Mandarin she is able to help me out with translation from English to Mandarin if I ask for help, but she lets me try my best to find a way to express myself in Mandarin. Coral's teaching and language skills and bright and positive personality transform the lesson into a very fruitful and enjoyable learning experience. I highly recommend Coral as a Mandarin teacher.

As always, Carol老师 is an excellent and patient teacher who identifies my needs as a learner and matches our class activities to them. She explains new words and concepts clearly in Chinese, but she also has a broad knowledge of English that she can use to translate words/phrases if needed. To be honest, speaking Chinese makes me extremely nervous, but I always enjoy our lessons because she is calm, patient, and a great conversationalist!

My lessons with Coral is always enjoyable. We’ve been chatting about random things and then working on HSK grammars. My Mandarin is far from good but I feel like I am getting better each lesson and the corrections I get have always been beneficial. How much I remember is another story 😅 I am just lucky to have found a very patient tutor.
