What would it be like without shoes?

Imagine that everyone walking on streets doesn't have a pair of shoes put on. How was it like exactly?  would it be like, exactly?
When it comes to shoes, there are only too two diverse kinds of shoes for us to choose in the modern market. Although they make us look groovy, characteristic, and unique, what 's the point of wearing shoes?
As far as I concerned, I am convinced that wearing shoes not only protects our feet from the outside contaminated and jeopardizing environment but also supports our walking more comfortable.
To sum up, I just wanna  want to express my opinion that we should focus on the original purpose of shoes, but not on pursuing the fashion trend blindly.

With the word 'characteristic,' it's not used in describing someone, rather it is used for an attribute for someone, or something. 

For example: The characteristics of mammals are:

They are vertebrates (which means they have a backbone or spine). Are endothermic. Also known as “warm-blooded,” endothermic animals regulate their own body temperate which allows them to live in almost every climate on Earth...等等
