Some people think it is more important to spend time <s>in</s> developing a successful career while others think it is more important to spend time with friends and family. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
    20180818 Singapore
The relative importance of career development and relationships with family or friends, is a frequent topic of discussion when people try to plan their daily schedule. This essay will discuss both sides, and then explain why I am more inclined to prioritize time with friends and family.
On the one hand, people who manage time by prioritizing career development claim that dedication to their job can improve their life quality. The primary reason is that the more time they spend <s>for</s> at their job, the higher the possibility of getting <s>to get</s> a promotion, followed by an increase in salary. With more money <s>can be allocated</s>, their basic needs for food and shelter<s>ing</s> can be satisfied, coupled with <s>the higher affordability</s> more to spend on/a higher disposable income to spend on <s>concerning </s>their pastimes/hobbies
Every minute they spend <s>for</s> at work <s>could</s> they believe will equate to <s>be traded off for</s> better living conditions. For example, they do not need to share a tiny room with others because of a tight budget, and they can treat themselves to a feast of sumptuous food after work, if they <s>can</s> receive decent salaries.
However, people who prioritize time with friends and family live a more emotionally satisfying life. Unlike <s>their</s> hard work for a job, which will not always pay off, <s>their</s> relationships with family and friends can be directly improved if more time <s>are</s> is spent with eachther, this is the most effective way to gain acceptance and satisfy one’s emotional needs. In addition, the support from family or friends plays a significant role in motivating people to move towards <s>his</s> their goals steadily. They may offer emotional and material supports to those who <s>meet </s>encounter troubles and back them up.

Hi Robert, I enjoyed your little paragraph of advice. I have some suggestions:

    How I'm starting my day*

Personally, I always wake up at 5AM. It's three hours before my school lessons start. I'm used to doing **morning exercises before doing anything else, it they helps me to start my day properly. I also greatly strongly recommend you to start take up this habit because it may change make each one of your days to a better way

    * If you are talking about right now - 'How I am starting my day' / If you are talking about everyday in general - 'How I start my day'.

    ** used to + ing

    take up/adopt/pick up + habits

change for the better = improve, make better

My brother is travelling to Vietnam with a peanut allergy. How can he write this in Vietnamese? Hello, I am wondering if you can help me. My brother is travelling to Vietnam. He is allergic to peanuts, cashew nuts and peanut oil. He could die if he eats them. How can he write this in Vietnamese? Do people have peanut allergies there? He ideally wants some writing to show people which explains this clearly. He really wants to be sure people understand in Vietnam. I am incredibly grateful for any help! Thanks, Jasmine

    Wow, what a paragraph!

    Why Don't You Eat Meat?

When you ask someone who lives a life <strike>that</strike> totally different from yours*: “Why don't you eat meat? ”. What I want to say is that your attitude is the largest cruelty.
Indeed , you are successful all the time , firstly you were born with <strike>rich </strike><font style="background-color: yellow;">wealth/money</font> **and power. Luckily, now you are living a fantasy life without any worries about money and you just enjoy your life without any other annoying things. What's more, you even count<strike>s</strike> money for little. How noble! Finally you ask some people who have <font style="background-color: yellow;">had</font> poor lives since they were born: “Why don't you eat meat? " People just keep silent and continue to do their, probably, negligible work, because most of them don't know how to answer this question and they cannot know the <font style="background-color: yellow;">clear answer </font>at the same time, while finally you smile with superiority, and you stealthily sneer at this group who, <font style="background-color: yellow;">it</font> seems, don't work hard to change their <font style="background-color: yellow;">lives</font> and you think you cannot be more compassionate.
You have never tried to know them even a bit more and you only live in your own world, in the end, what you have done is just ask them this useless and embarrassing question to show your compassion in order <font style="background-color: yellow;">to identify you as a successful man</font>.

*When you ask someone who lives a life <font style="background-color: yellow;">that is</font> totally different from yours
** Rich is the adjective - a person is rich; a person has wealth

'I've' is short for 'I have'. You can only used the present perfect when you are talking about incomplete actions. The simple past is used for complete actions. I haven't been stressed out since I've worked at the company. < Here you use the present perfect, so you insinuate that you are still working at the company. The use of the present perfect means that this action is incomplete. I haven't been stressed out since I worked at the company. < Here the simple past means that you have finished working at the company. The action is complete. Likewise: I haven't been poor since I've worked at the company. < Here the use of present perfect means that you are still working at the company. I haven't been poor since I worked at the company". < Here the simple past means you have finished working at the company. The action is complete.

How do I say police certificate / CRB check / DRB check in Spanish - specifically Colombian Spanish? I need to get a police certificate / CRB check / DRB check from Colombia. How do I ask for one!? I have been saying 'certificada de buena conducta' - am I asking for the right thing? I lived in the country for 9 months and need a police check ASAP for a Canadian visa. I will be eternally grateful to anyone who can help me out!

    A little information about me

Hi, My name is Alfonso. I’m learning English because I like it and I <font style="background-color: yellow;">like to / can*</font> meet new people and speak with them <strike>everywhere</strike>. I’m from Italy and I’m 38 years old. I live in a small village called Dogliani, near the Langhe.
The Langhe <strike>are </strike>is <font style="background-color: yellow;">within</font> the vineyard landscape of Piedmont, in the north west of Italy. At the moment <font style="background-color: yellow;">it is a</font> Unesco World Heritage <font style="background-color: yellow;">site</font>.
My town is twinned with a French city and a German city. French and German will be <font style="background-color: yellow;">the</font> next languages <font style="background-color: yellow;">which </font>I want to learn, but now I believe it’s more important to study English <strike>for</strike> to be able** to communicate with each town.
I’m a “geometra”. In English “geometra” is like a land surveyor or a quantity surveyor. In Italy “geometra” is like an easy version of<font style="background-color: yellow;"> an</font> architect.
My interests are rock climbing, hiking and travelling. Everything wh<font style="background-color: yellow;">ich</font> I can do in the open air. The mountains and the sea are an hou<font style="background-color: yellow;">rs</font>*** drive from Dogliani, so as soon as I can I go over there
I'm sorry for my <font style="background-color: yellow;">mistakes****</font> and thank you for the corrections

    * 'like to' OR 'can' - not both
** 'for being' OR 'to be'
*** 'Alfonso's' for possession; 'Alfonsos' for plural
**** Google 'moustaches'! It will make you laugh! I am sure you have a very nice moustache - no need to apologise.
