In 1994, the U.S. and China join issued a same theme stamp-crane. A Whooping Crane and a Black-necked Crane were selected to represent the two countries, respectively. I have the stamps. It’s so concise but excellent design and drawing.

The whooping crane is a large bird species. It has white feathers almost all the way from its neck to its tail. However, whooping cranes have a red point on the top of their heads, and black at the end of their yellow beaks. When they fly, there are obvious black feathers under the ends of both wings. The whooping crane's scientific name is Grus americana, and it’s Chinese name is 美洲鹤(Mei Zhou He). In Chinese, 美洲=american, and 鹤=crane. It’s a special species that only lives on the American continent. There’s a similar crane called the black-necked crane. You can tell by it's name that it has a black neck. Its head is also black except for the white spots behind and below its eyes. The black-necked crane has a red point on the top of its head just like the whooping crane. Black-necked cranes also have some black feathers in the end (do you mean "at the tail"?). The scientific name for the black-necked crane is Grus nigricollis. It’s Chinese name is 黑颈鹤(Hei Jing He). 黑=black, 颈=neck, and 鹤=crane. It’s a special species that is only found in China, and the last species of crane discovered by humans (Russian explorers) in the Qinghai salt lake in 1876. In 1994, the U.S. and China jointly issued a stamp with the same theme - a crane. A whooping crane and a black-necked crane were selected to represent the two countries, respectively. I have the stamps. It’s such a simple but excellent design and drawing. ("Concise" is only used to describe something with words - something either spoken or written.)
This was so interesting! I really like all of your descriptions.
