CODA with 15 years of tutoring experience! I graduated from a four year program with an A.A.S in Deaf Studies. I tutored students at my college but I had been a tutor before that in my community. I have taught at my local E.L.K.S lodge and I have worked in an elementary school in Deaf classrooms. When I take on new students, I do like to take the first lesson with them to get to know them and ask them questions about their desire to learn sign language. This gives me the ability to figure out the best way to cater to each student individually. Having worked with children as well as adults, I am able to teach beginners as well as work with those who have more advanced skill.

Since I didn't go through the normal route to get a teaching certificate in college, when I finally did start teaching I put a lot of pressure on myself to be the best teacher I could be and to really reach my students.
