Raise your hand if you've ever given a one-second answer in IELTS Speaking… and watched the examiner's smile slowly disappear. Yeah — that was me too. But today, I'm going to teach you a ridiculously simple technique that makes your answers longer, richer, and higher-scoring. It's called the PPF method. And once you know it, you'll never run out of things to say again. Let me show you the problem first. Imagine the examiner asks you: 'Do you like cooking? The average candidate says: 'Yes, I like cooking. It's nice. That's it. Two sentences. Six seconds. And the examiner is already thinking about lunch. Now, watch what happens when we use the PPF method. The first P stands Past. The second P stands foe Present. and F stands for Future.
Same question. Listen to this answer: Yes, I really do. In fact, I cook almost every evening — it's my way of relaxing after a long day. But honestly, I didn't use to be this good at it. When I was a student, I survived on instant noodles! Now, I'm actually hoping to learn some proper Italian dishes — maybe I'll take a cooking class next year. Same question. One technique. And suddenly… that's a Band 7 answer!Let's break it down. Past: you talk about how things used to be. Present: you talk about what's true now. Future: you talk about what you hope or plan to do.
Why is this so powerful? Because it forces you to extend your answer naturally — and it gives you amazing grammar variety: past tenses, present tenses, future forms — You'll in one answer. Fluency? Check. Vocabulary? Check. Grammar? Check."
Here are the magic bridges to help you jump between the three parts:
"Past: When I was younger… I didn't use to… Back then…"
"Present: These days… At the moment… To be honest, now…"
"Future: In the future, I'd love to… Maybe I'll… I'm hoping to…"

Let's discuss phrasal verbs.
"Turned up" What does this phrasal verb mean? How would you word it in a sentence?
"Part with" What does this phrasal verb mean? How would you word it in a sentence?
"Gathered up" What does this phrasal verb mean? How would you word it in a sentence?
Phrasal verb usage is so common for English speakers. It's a way to say what you want in a shorter way. Just like using slang or abbreviations or contractions.
There are so many phrasal verbs in existence and so many different ways to use them in everyday speaking.

English for Academic Purposes
Academic English requires more than general communication.
Students may need help with:
• Academic vocabulary
• Essay writing
• Organization of ideas
• Grammar and accuracy
• Formal style
• Critical thinking
• Research-related language
My lessons can be adapted to the learner's academic needs
and level.
Clear academic communication is a skill that can be
