Particular use of 的 - Help :) I was studying Chinese. I said "我需要你的帮助” and the answer was "我会帮助你的” I was told it sounds natural but I don't know the grammar. I understand "我会帮助你” but I don't know why "的” is used here. Can you explain?

What is the most common way to say "wife" in Chinese? One of the most common I hear is 妻子 (it should be a bit formal). Else I know 老婆 (it should be informal and probably the most used by the husband for addressing the wife usually in an informal context). I also found 太太. Is it commonly used? Maybe more in Taiwan than in Mainland China? Just guessing. I even found 夫人 but this is probably the most formal way..it is used just for wives of important people, like diplomats or government officials I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

About 母亲 and 父亲 I usually say 妈妈 and 爸爸. What is the difference? More formal? Are they used in Mainland China or outside (for example Taiwan..)?

Sentence #2 This is a sentence taken from a Chinese course: 他感冒，他躺在床上。 What I knew is that 病 means "disease" and if I want to use that word, I may write that sentence as "我病了". I also know that "to fall ill"/"to get sick" is "生病", right? In this sentence there is the word "感冒". It means to have got a cold, right? While 病 is a more general term for "disease"..躺 means "to lie down", right? 床 means "bed" and 上 means "above, on top", so it helps building the meaning of the sentence "he lies on bed". I know 床 means "bed", but there is also another word made of 2 characters that means "bed", can you help me to recall it? Thanks for your help.
