Let’s talk about why Korean sentence structure feels so backwards! (Not exactly backwards 😂) English is like that friend who gets straight to the point: “I ate pizza” - You know what happened right away! Korean is like that friend who builds up suspense: “나는 피자를… 먹었어” (I pizza… ate) - You’re literally waiting for the punchline! Summary⛳️ English: Subject → Verb → Object (SVO) Think of it like: WHO did WHAT to WHAT • I love coffee • She watches Netflix Korean: Subject → Object → Verb (SOV) Think of it like: WHO does something to WHAT… wait for it… DOES THIS! • 나는 커피를 좋아해 (I coffee love) • 그녀는 넷플릭스를 봐 (She Netflix watches) 😂 The plot twist nobody tells you: After a while, your brain actually starts to like the Korean way! It’s like… dramatic effect, you know? Instead of “I love you,” it’s “I you… LOVE!” Kind of romantic when you think about it 😏
Can you translate this sentence into Korean? 👉🏻I’m visiting Korea! 🇰🇷
간다 (visiting) / 나는 (I’m) / 한국에 (Korea)
나는 (I’m) / 간다 (visiting) / 한국에 (Korea)
나는 (I’m) / 한국에 (Korea) / 간다 (visiting)

The other day, I received the TOEIC results that I had been looking forward to. Before checking my score, I was worried that it might not have changed much from last time, or that it might even be lower. However, my score increased by about 100 points compared to the previous test, and I was very happy. I feel that my daily efforts, such as memorizing vocabulary little by little and practicing listening, have finally shown results. What made me especially happy was that my listening score improved compared to last time. Recently, even though I cannot understand everything, I have started to catch key words and understand the general flow of conversations. Seeing this small improvement reflected in my score gave me a lot of confidence. I still have not reached my target score, and there are many points I need to improve. In the reading section, I could not manage my time well, and I hesitated on many grammar questions. I want to use these reflections to do better next time. From this result, I learned that even if effort does not lead to immediate big results, it will take shape if I continue. To improve my score even more, I will keep studying as I have been and continue to work hard step by step.
