Hi everyone! Please help me understand the difference between the words "purple" and "violet" when it comes to colors. Do both words refer to the same color? Can they be used interchangeably? If not, how are they different (e.g., which one is warmer/darker/closer to blue/red etc.)? The problem is that both words mean pretty much the same in my native language (both are translated as "фиолетовый" into Russian), which is why I wonder whether native English speakers see the difference between these two words.

Yesterday I was told that John pop Nadine the question. (In this sentence I was trying to use the slang “pop the question” 6. After swimming in the ocean I felt like I was going to throw up. I guess ocean’s water got into my mouth. 7. The flight attendants gave all passengers the menu but it was hard to choose dishes because it wasn’t translated from Turkish into English.

What does it mean? ** We're all out of time. ** Does it mean; We're completely out of time.

Are both sentences OK? I know what kind of person he is. And If I say; Don't praise him to me. Don’t brag about him to me.

Can I use these interchangeably? He thinks he's something. He thinks he's somebody. He thinks he's special.

Does art have a universal language? As a professional painter, I believe colors can speak louder than words. Do you think knowing art history helps us understand different cultures better while learning a new language? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
