Professional qualified teacher who has taught at a Japanese language school in the Los Angeles area Beginners with Genki 1 & Genki 2 are welcome. As I reflect back on the various occupations I’ve had, I see a common ground in all of them; a teacher. I have taught English in Prep Schools, I was a Christian Pastor teaching the Bible in churches, I was a communication skills trainer at the mentally handicapped training center and now I am a Japanese language teacher for foreigners and missionaries. The greatest joy as a teacher is to share the moment with the student when the unknown becomes known and understood. There is joy in understanding intellectually with the mind, as well as the excitement of understanding with the heart. I teach with Genki 1 for beginners and Genki 2.

I'm a qualified teacher in primary school and currently working as a Icelandic teacher. I love teaching to children but I also enjoy teaching to adults who has great interest in languages. Since I'm not native Icelandic speaker, I know how hard to learn Icelandic as second language. I also studied Icelandic from zero knowledge like all of you! Before I became a Japanese language teacher, I had been a government employee. I passed Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test administered by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services in 2019, and teach Japanese as a Japanese language teacher. I can speak not only Japanese, but also Korean(advanced level) ,English(intermediate level), and also can speak a bit of Vietnamese. I will try my best to support you!

Drawing on the language and communication skills I developed as an international flight attendant, I strive to quickly understand each student’s needs and offer lesson plans that match their level and goals. However, in any class, I place the most importance on giving students time to actively participate and express themselves. I want to help as many people as possible experience the joy of communicating their thoughts in a foreign language and the satisfaction of being understood.

I completed all the requirements of Japanese Languages Teacher (420 hours). And I have Bachelor of Commerce and I’m qualified for a financial planner. And I passed the English proficiency test (Eiken) grade 2. I strongly believe that a good portion of any lesson should feature at least some speaking practice and so I aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where you feel you can make mistakes. I encourage you not to be afraid to make mistakes, because when you learn from your mistakes, that is how you progress. I will do corrections throughout the lesson or at the end of the lesson, depending on the pace. I'd love to help you fulfill your dreams and achieve your goals :)
