🧠✨ Why does transport, export, and support all feel connected? Because they are 👇 They all share the Latin root -port-, from portare, meaning “to carry”. Let’s break it down: ➡️ trans-port = carry across (move something from one place to another) ➡️ ex-port = carry out (send goods out of a country) ➡️ im-port = carry in (bring goods into a country) ➡️ sup-port = carry from below (hold something up → help, support) 💡 Suddenly, these words are not random anymore — they follow a pattern. This is the difference between: ❌ memorizing words ✅ understanding how English actually works And when you see the system… learning becomes much easier 😉 Want more posts like this? Maybe you're wanting to visit the United States. Maybe you're wanting to move to the United States. Maybe you got a job in the United States and you want to be able to communicate with people in your new neighborhood. Or maybe you already live in the United States but were born in another country, but you want to learn how to speak more like you live here. You want to talk to people in the grocery store, book store and more! Have you ever had someone from the United States really judge your speaking then actually teach you vocabulary, prepositions, phrasal verbs, slang, idioms etc? Wouldn't your listener appreciate that? Wouldn't that make the conversation more free flowing and more enjoyable? Check out my tutor profile and book a lesson of mine. I've been tutoring students around the world since 2018 to sound more American.
