My part-time job the other day was really exhausting. Customers kept flooding into the store one after another, and I barely had a moment to breathe. At first, I thought it was just a bit busier than usual, but before I knew it, we had tons of orders piling up. I even lost track of what I had already done. It was the store’s special discount day, which only happens once a month, so that’s probably why it got so crowded. We even received a few complaints from customers, and it really took a toll on my mental state. Since forgetting to hand out items is absolutely unacceptable, I tried to stay focused the whole time. Thanks to that, I didn’t make a single packing mistake that day, which was a huge relief. Even though it was tough, working hard together with my coworkers gave me a sense of accomplishment. After my shift, the manager gave me an ice cream. I was completely worn out, but that ice cream tasted so good that it almost made all the tiredness disappear. If I ever end up in the same situation again, I want to make sure I stay calm and handle things without panicking.

I caught the flu and had to stay in bed for several days. At first, I thought I was getting a little better, so I planned to visit my friend’s house. However, right before leaving, I suddenly felt warm and noticed that my body didn’t feel right. I decided to cancel the plan because I didn’t want to push myself too hard. That night, my fever went up to 39 degrees, and I had a really difficult time dealing with the chills and exhaustion. Looking back, I am truly glad that I didn’t go to my friend’s house. If I had forced myself to go, my condition might have gotten even worse, and I could have caused trouble for everyone. Resting at home was the best choice, and it reminded me how important it is to listen to my body when I’m not feeling well.

This week was really full of great memories. First, I went to the JICA museum for a course field trip. We looked around the exhibits and learned about international cooperation and the history of people working around the world. It was interesting to see real photos and documents, and it made me think a lot about different countries and cultures. A few days later, I went to Showa Kinen Park with my girlfriend to see the autumn leaves. It was the last day of the season, so we were lucky. The trees were red and yellow, and the view was beautiful. We walked around slowly and took many photos together. The time felt very peaceful and special. After that, we celebrated the birthday of her friend. The three of us ate cake, talked a lot, and had a fun time. I was happy to join their celebration and laugh together. Finally, it was my girlfriend’s birthday. We went on a night cruise to celebrate. The city lights and the water looked amazing. I gave her a scarf as a present. I hope it keeps her warm this winter. When she smiled, I felt really happy. It was a perfect ending to the week.
