The rain keeps drumming on the window today, a constant reminder of yesterday's close call. While I was chilling at music class, real trouble hit close to home. Apparently, a hailstorm erupted – the first I can remember here! Fist-sized ice chunks rained down, wrecking countless cars in its path. News reports later confirmed casualties, followed by a tornado striking the same area. "What on earth! People died due to a weather in summer?” I thought, glued to the screen, the news reports sending chills down my spine. If we'd left music class just an hour later...well, let's just say our trusty Beetle wouldn't make it. We definitely dodged a bullet yesterday! (By the way, later on I learned my best friend’s car was ruined pretty bad. Luckily they weren’t in the car, so no one got hurt.)

I never think so. Children inherently identify their cultures where they live with. Learning a new language would bring children into a new perspective regarding their own cultures, rather than reduce their cultural identity.

2024/4/28 I would like to share a story I’ve just read, it’s called “Hoax” No more people would like to practice jokes rather than university students, it seems that they are specialize in deceiving people for entertainment. Inviting fire brigade to put out a non-existent fire is crude form of deception that university student would ever indulge in. When a student saw two work men were tearing the road with pneumatic drill the student telephoned the police at once and informed them that dressed up as workmen the two students are destroying the rode by pneumatic drill and annoying other student by the tremendous noise. after hanging up he came over the two workmen and told them if a police asked you to leave please don’t pay attention to them because the police isn’t real, he added that student in this campus like to dress up and pretend to be a police. Both worker and police were grateful to him for the piece of advance information. then he found a place to hid himself where he can see what’s going on. Before long a police officer arrived on the scene and requested them to leave politely. Needless to say, the work men ignored what the police saying and refused stopping their works in hand. The police became impatient and threatened work men by rude words and called for help. After several policemen came the policy tried to seize the pneumatic drill by force and the same time one of the workmen lost his temper and threatened to say, “Don’t bother us otherwise I will call the police”, the policy responded ironically and said that it would be unnecessary because you were arrested. Pleaded repeatedly by the workmen the police accompanied one of them to a pay phone. After the worker press the numbers really the police realized that there were all victims of a hoax.

Today, we went to the beach, which locates 20 km from my parents-in-law's house. My daughter brought with her bunch of sea snails. She herself is raising some land snails in her plastic box at home. Even though we went to the beach together, I didn't know she got the snails with her till we got home. I told her that you cannot raise the snails with running water because they need sea water. She worries searching the internet for hơ to make sea water but failed. She wants us to go back to the beach to let go the snails to the sea. I am not good at riding motobike and lost way all the time so I can't. Others don't think it worth it because the weather is super hot outside and it is too far away. I hope I can do something with the snails.

In such an age which is neither too old nor too young, I am not easily attracted by a movie, because I have a lot of other things to do from morning until to midnight. but I have definitely watched a movie last week at home, becuase my daughter has just taken a test and had a half day off last week. Which kind of movies should I watch was a problem. Finally, I decided to watch a Hong Kong action movie which used to be my favorite kind of movies many years ago. The actors I always likes has been getting old, but they still try their best to give us good catching movies. On the other hand, it means the greatest time of Hong Kong movies has been passed,but the young actors can't hold up the entire Hong Kong movie industry. So,sometimes, we can still see old Jackie Chan running in the movies. Hong Kong movies once played an important part in the world, and has a big group of fans aroud the world. I am one of them! The movies I watched last week was still wonderful, the actors' action were still excellent, but I have a sad feeling that how many stunning movies like this can be seen in the future?

I went to two parties on Friday night. The first is the buffet restaurant on the 38th floor of the Corn Building in Qianxi Square. Knives, spoons, chopsticks, forks, seafood, lamb chops, steak, pizza, pastries, beer, staple food... The range is wide, but the taste is average. The second is outdoor barbecue on the roof of a friend's house, bamboo skewers, chopsticks, lamb skewers, pork belly, roast sausage, potatoes, enoki mushrooms, sour plum soup... Simple and rough, but nice atmosphere and taste.

I would like to get married, but I don't even have a boyfriend. Some of my friends start getting married and I felt left behind. I think the last time I had a crush was like when I was a high school student. I couldn't tell him my feeling because I don't have an enough courage. I don't fall in love since then. I really hope that I will meet someone that I like and like me back. Every time I see couples in downtown, I felt so jealous. Why couldn't I have a boyfriend. Everyone seems have it. I would like to be loved and I would like to love someone. How and where do they meet and start relationships. I just can't understand. I felt fear of being left on the shelf.

I was transferred to new department which was international exchange division in city hall. This department is what I wanted to join since when I was a university student because my major was English, and I was interested in that field. I was surprised to know that I could move to international exchange division because my boss told me that this division is popular, and many people would like to move there. So, I was happy that some kind of my dream came true. At the same time, I was worried because I know this division is busy and I have to work overtime a lot. Moreover, this was my first department transfer, and it is a completely different field compared to my previous division. One month was passed since I moved. It been busy and I have to work overtime as I assumed. But my colleagues and my boss seem nice(probably). I have to write a lot of documents, e-mails and paying bills. I'm exhausted actually. I am going to go to business trip to China this summer. I am kind of excited, but I am worried because I have to write a lot of documents and do a lot of preparation. That means I have to work overtime. I hate overtime work. I would like to leave office at fixed time. I maybe become too pessimistic. Maybe I could get used my job soon and get my job done quickly. I don't know. I hope I could survive my new division.
