I'm a 15 year old boy, from Malaysia. I'm still studying in high school, in IGCSE syllabus. I want to learn Japanese because I am very interested in Japanese culture and history, and I wish to study at the Tokyo University of Science. I want to make friends who can teach me other languages, and also people who are looking for help with English! I don't mean to brag, but my English is pretty good!

    help me!!!!

Hello everyone, I'm David, an Italian, and I live in Florence. Now I'm working as truck driver. I love travelling, so next autumn, I'll be travelling to miami for a month and I want improve my basic English. I hope that someone would help me.

    1. You don't need to use the word "person", because the word "Italian" means a person from Italy.

    2. For the sentence "Now i'm working like truck driver and i love travelling.", it doesn't really make sense, because the two sentences put together don't really have anything to do with each other.

    3. Your grammar needs some improving, and you might confuse the words "like" and "as". They might carry a similar meaning, but they have specific uses.

I think it usually depends on the severity of the problem, and the severity of the punishment.

I know that "their" can be used, but is it really standard use? I guess I haven't really looked into the use of their as an actual accepted pronoun, instead of thinking of it as a slang use word.

I hope someone can revise my job speech

Good afternoon, sir. My name is Lavender. It is really a great honor to have this opportunity to introduce myself. I am 21 years old, born in Shanghai, and I am currently a sophomore student at Shanghai Maritime University. I am majoring in tourism management. After my graduation, I will receive a Bachelor degree. I want to apply for an entry-level position in sales. And my eventual goal is to be a manager of the marketing department. I have some relevant experience about sales. I have sold pizza and coffee to players when I worked as a volunteer in archery world cup. During this period of time, I gained knowledge about the management of human relations and also sales skills. In addition, I also developed the ability to express myself in English. During another exercitation experience, I sold Carrera Slot cars at the Shanghai Pudong Expo. Those toy cars were very expensive. So devising a way to sell them was a great challenge for me. I decided on persuading parents to buy them, (how did you?). This experience taught me eloquence in speech. Through these work experiences, I have learnt some basic sales skills (this isn't wrong, but it's repeated). I believe I will get better in the future because I’m quite fit for this position (why?). Hearing that I had a chance to get an interview for a position at XXX, I felt very excited. I have a strong will to work in XXX because it is the best in the hospitality industry. I have always cared for XXX Hotels Corporation (also a repeat). The company’s portfolio in shanghai consists of 4 properties. And I am always interested in news coming from your industry. I noticed XXX Regency will open in May(This isn't really pertinent). I also admire and agree with the employee developmental values that the company has adopted. I find that my personal goals and ideas fit perfectly with the company’s goals and mission statement. It is not our abilities that show what we truly are, it is our choices.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to my speech. I hope we can work together in the future.

I understand your point about different parts of the world having their own plural forms of "you", but there should be a standardized form. This is in regards to me being a student, where some teachers might accept "you guys" or "y'all", but others won't. And I have studied the archaic form of "you", and have arrived at the conclusion= WE NEED TO BRING BACK THE USE OF "THOU"

It's not spelling that's a problem. It's the reading problem. When words that have a similar string of letters are compared, like "Comb" and "Bomb" they have a high chance of making a completely different sound when read. And a lot of words that contain the vowels "ei" together, have lots of different readings. And there not being a gender neutral pronoun, is very upsetting. There are many cases like "Every person shall hunt and kill "his"/"her" own food", where there not being a gender neutral pronoun, causes it to be sexist. I believe there are no other "sexist" languages. This is a major flaw.

There are numerous fallacies and problems within the language, such as multiple different words having the same phonemes, not being an honorific form of the word "you", no plural form for the word 'you", and way too many more to possibly write down.
