CUEMANCO, EL MERCADO DE PLANTAS MÁS HERMOSO Y GRANDE DE LATINOAMÉRICA

Cuemanco es el mercado de flores más grande de toda América Latina, pero a finales del siglo XX fue una zona lacustre. En 1991 el gobierno MEXICANO decidió imponer el proyecto del rescate ecológico de Xochimilco, con el cual se construyó el parque ecológico, el deportivo ecológico y el mercado de plantas y flores de Cuemanco.

Visitar el mercado de Cuemanco significa hacer un recorrido lleno de colores y olores que dejan extasiados a los paseantes en el mercado de flores y plantas de Cuemanco. Uno de los grandes atractivos de Xochimilco es que los chinamperos cosechan flores y plantas de ornato para interiores y exteriores. A precios muy económicos se pueden comprar bromelias, violetas, patas de elefante, pinos y más bellezas.

el Mercado de flores y plantas DE Cuemanco  recibe a más de 2 millones de visitantes al año. Con ello se logró incrementar la afluencia de turistas a este sitio considerado el más grande en Latinoamérica y el tercero a nivel mundial en su tipo, pues aquí se comercializan más de 15 mil especies, tanto endémicas como provenientes de otros estados.

Cuando es primavera el olor a las flores está por todas partes. En verano se siente la frescura de las flores e incluso en invierno el olor de las nochebuenas y de los árboles de navidad invade el entorno.  Los colores, se mezcla junto con más de mil especies de plantas y quinientas cactáceas que invaden el mercado de plantas y flores de Cuemanco, en la alcaldía Xochimilco.
