Be Present: Put away distractions like phones and silence internal chatter. Focus solely on the speaker, conveying attentiveness through eye contact and open body language.

Listen Verbally and Nonverbally: Pay attention not just to words, but also to tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language. These nonverbal cues can reveal underlying emotions or unspoken concerns.

Embrace Silence: Don't feel pressured to fill every pause. Comfortable silence allows the speaker to gather their thoughts and express themselves fully.

Ask Clarifying Questions: Don't assume you understand everything. Use open-ended questions to encourage elaboration and ensure you're on the same page.

Japanese daily life podcast のAtsushiです。
このPodcastは、日本語を勉強しているみなさんに向けたPodcastです。

さて、今回も海外旅行の続きです。
オランダ、アムステルダムの話をします。

このアムステルダムの街の形はとてもおもしろい形をしています。街の中に運河、川がいくつか流れています。17世紀のはじめにたくさん増えた移民に対応すること、街を守るという点から、4つの半円状の運河を含む街がつくられました。


アムステルダムで行ったいくつかの場所を紹介しますね。

アンネ・フランクの家

ナチスのユダヤ人への迫害から逃れるため、アンネの家族でドイツからオランダ、アムステルダムへ亡命しました。この場所で約2年間隠れ、日記に書き続けました。でも1944年に発見されました。そしてアンネは15歳で発疹チフスという感染症で亡くなったそうです。

ドイツ、オランダでは戦争のことや、ユダヤ人に関することなど、史跡や博物館などで知れる場所がたくさんあります。そして、それを忘れないようにしていることが伝わってきます。

オランダのパンケーキを食べられる店です。
アメリカなどのパンケーキと違って、もっと平べったくて大きなものでした。僕はリンゴとベーコンが入ったパンケーキを食べました。甘すぎず、食べ応えのあるパンケーキでとてもおいしかったです。

ゴッホ美術館

ゴッホ美術館は、行きたかったんですけど、残念ながらチケットが取れませんでした。妻が調べてくれたんですが、3ヶ月ぐらい前にチケットを買わないといけないみたいです。

もしアムステルダムに行く予定があって、ゴッホ美術館に行きたいと思っている人は、できるだけ早めにチケットをとっておいてくださいね！


アムステルダムは形がとてもおもしろい形の街です。
思っていたよりも広い街で、トラムで移動もできますし、歩いて楽しむこともできます。

古い街並みが残っています。
それを大切にしているような雰囲気があり、とても気持ちが良い街でした。



行きたいところは他にもたくさんあったんですが、2日しかいなかったので、全然足りなかったです。次行く時はもう少しゆっくりみたいですね。
