Everyday Idioms and Proverbs at Home | Learn Hindi #255
描述
Indian parents and grandparents rarely say "you're annoying me" or "be careful with money". They say it with a picture: you have put trouble in my nose, or stretch your legs only as far as your sheet goes. These pictures are called मुहावरे (muhaavre) = idioms, and short wise sayings are called कहावतें (kahaavatein) = proverbs.
In this episode:
• How hindi idioms work
• Idioms for annoying people
• Idioms of love and pride
• Idioms for daily life
• Teasing idioms
• Proverbs grandparents love
• Scene: the kitchen before dinner
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
