Hey! Hi! What's up? My name is Alice. I was born in the United States. I've never been outside of North America before. I started tutoring American English speaking skills on Italki in 2018. A bit about me... I love knitting, photography and writing. I love Disney parks. I love thrift stores and book stores. I love music. In the past I've worked on Theater. I've taken piano lessons, Ballet lessons and Tap lessons. I graduated college in 2009 with a degree in English. Tell me about you! What are your hobbies? What country do you live in? For those that are wanting to learn how to speak American English. Have you ever been to the United States? If you haven't then where would you want to visit in the United States? What is your reason for wanting to learn how to speak American English?

One thing I've learned a tutor that teaches American English that it's very common for students wanting to learn how to speak American English... only half of them actually watch American English TV shows or Movies. Some only watch/listen to BBC. If you only watch BBC or maybe watch one American English tv show on a rare occasion.... like in the background when you're doing chores... then that isn't going to improve your American English speaking. Find a show that interests you. Two I suggest is 'Friends' and 'Seinfeld.' You could also try 'The Office.' And watch those on a regular basis. Start with using subtitles if you have to.

Which kinds of American English vocabulary words do you want to learn? Do you feel limited when you try to speak American English? Do you need help learning words?

Which country are you from? Tell me about your country. What is it like there? What seasons do you get? Does it snow? I'm from the US. I was born in the US. I've never visited outside of North America. I'm originally from the state of Ohio. Pretty boring state. Not boring if you love sports though. In Northern Ohio it would snow a lot during the Winter months. I moved to Kentucky a few years ago. Kentucky has the Derby. It also has the longest known cave system in the world. Kentucky Fried Chicken was started here.
