WOMAN STEALS A PICTURE BOOK
One day, a woman picked up a picture book from the shelf.
She was collecting her daughter from nursery.
But she was early.
Later, in bed, she was reading that same picture book.
She recognised the author's name.
But she couldn't remember where she'd seen or heard it from...
On Sunday, she met her friend in a cafe.
'I stole a book...' she said, out of the blue.
'What do you mean? 'You stole a book'?' she repeated.
She attempted to explain.
'I was in my daughter's classroom and I was killing time by looking at the picture books from the shelf... I don't know... I felt compelled to read this one particular book... the cover art... and the drawings were... amazing...'
'Then I saw the author's name.'
'Who?'
"Nathan Fortun..."
Her friend hesitated.
"I know who that is..."
