Can you teach me Norwegian? Hi! I'm Priscila and I'm from Argentina. I'm a native Spanish speaker, have an advanced level in English, and I'm trying to find someone who can teach me the basics of Norwegian, how to speak it, at least to have a basis from where I can study on my own. I can help you with Spanish as well if you want, and English if you're not too advanced. I specially like Norse Mythology, that's why I want to learn Norwegian, so after that I can also learn Icelandic and then Old Norse, to read the Eddas in their original language. Have a good day!

She (short story) ”Make a wish.” “Um…” “Choose carefully.” She laughed and tilted her head, with that gleam in her eyes that had made him fall in love with her. “You’re too serious. It’s only a game. I’m not getting my wish. No need to sound so mysterious.” He smiled faintly and his eyes met hers. “Come on. Make a wish. But for real.” “Okay,” she laughed again and looked at the sky, narrowing her eyes as she was thinking. He took that minute to look at her. He knew that such an amazing girl could never see anything in him, a normal boy with lots of flaws. She was perfect from head to toe, inside and outside. He had seen her soul and it was as pure as snow that has just fallen from the sky. He was somehow expecting her to stop being his friend sooner or later, when she got bored of him, his stupid jokes and his lack of beauty and sexiness. He was a bit fat, he loved heavy metal and had chronic headaches. What could a girl possibly see in that? “I wish…” She took her eyes off of the sky and looked at him the way no other girl had looked at him in all his life. His stomach twisted. He didn’t know what to look at. Her eyes were so beautiful and somehow so frightening. “I wish I spend the rest of my life with you.” And the stars could have exploded, the sky could have turned green and the grass blue, and he wouldn’t have cared anyway. He leaned forward and so did she, and their lips touched. And his soul was shouting for joy at the stars.

Being a writer Being a writer, and even more being a teenage writer, is not something you can do from one day to another. It's like doing sport. Or playing an instrument. No one can do a back flip the first day they do gymnastics. No one can put the golf ball in the hole the first time they play golf (unless they are damn lucky). No one can play Beethoven's "Moonlight" the first time they play piano. And no one can write something amazing the first time they hold the pen. Nope. It doesn't work that way. I know it because I've been through it. I've discovered the joys and desperation of writing. I've been in the place of the astonished reader who doesn't understand how the hell the writer wrote that. I've tried to write and ended up with pages of shitty writing. I've been tempted to let it go and dedicate myself to something easier. Just reading, maybe. But I can't keep that decision for a long time. While I'm reading, words come silently into my mind, tip-toeing, and start forming ideas, unnoticed... And by the time I notice that, I already have a story in my mind, a new character, something that call me, and calls me... And I can't help but write. That's a writer. Someone who writes. Always writes. Not an amateur, but someone who lives of stories. My characters and my stories are part of my life. I can't let them go and I won't either. And I don't give a damn about what people may think or say. I'm a writer, and I'm proud of that. Period.

    Mi Vida

Soy un estudiante de Estados Unidos. Me encato encanta mi pais país porque tenemos todo. Comida, deportes, musica música, todo, jaja. Mi vida ahora es bueno buena. Yo necesito practicar mi leerando lecturaescribando escriturahablando habla. Gracias :)

    The mistakes you made were:

The first one, well, you misspelled a word. You dropped the second "n" in "encanta", and you also put an "o" instead of an "a". "Encanto" means "charm". "Encanta" is a tense of the verb "encantar" (to like, to love).

The second and third mistakes were made because you didn't pay attention to the written accent, a very important thing when you are writing in Spanish. "País" has a written accent on the "i" and "música" has it on the "u".

The fourth mistake was again a misspelling. You wrote "bueno" instead of "buena". In Spanish, we have gender differences in words. You were saying "life is good". "Life" is feminine, "la vida" ("la" is a feminine article), so if "life" is feminine, the adjective ("good) has to be feminine too. "Bueno", with an "o", is masculine. "Buena" is feminine.

And your last three mistakes can be pretty easy to make if you are a native English speaker. You use the gerunds to talk about things that would be nouns, or infinitives. We in Spanish say "Yo amo bailar", o "Yo amo el baile". If you translate it literally to English, it would be like "I love to dance" or "I love the dance". It isn't grammatically correct in English, but it is in Spanish. The same is the other way around. In English you say "I love dancing", and if you translate it literally to Spanish, you get "You amo bailando". It's completely incorrect in Spanish. So, if you wanted to say "I need to practice my reading, writing and speaking", in Spanish you have two options. Turn your gerunds ("-ing") into nouns or into infinitives. If you turn them into nouns, you can say "Yo necesito practicar mi lectura, escritura y habla". If you turn them into infinitives, you can say "Yo necesito practicar leer, escribir y hablar.". You have another option, though, using gerunds in Spanish, but you have to change slightly the meaning of the sentence. You can say "Yo necesito practicar leyendo, escribiendo y hablando.", but that in English would be like "I need to practice by reading, writing and speaking.". It's not exactly the same as you intended to say.

    I hope this helped you.

    See you!

    Priscila.

"She is different" (a Loki fanfic) - Chapter 1: A painful landing (2/2) Part 2 of the chapter started in the previous notebook entry. Please correct my mistakes. ---------------------------- “Hey, there!” I turn around to face her when she speaks again, and both of us raise our eyebrows at the same time. She’s Midgardian. That aura and those clothes are undeniably human. Nevertheless, I don’t think I could have fallen so down. A fall from Asgard to Midgard should have killed me. Maybe I’m stronger that what I thought. She mouths the word «Awesome», although I don’t know if she’s talking about me or about the damage around me. She’s beautiful. That weird feeling again, what is happening? “Why are you dressed like that?” She stretches her hand and lightly touches my suit before I can stop her. Her voice shows curiosity. “I was in the battle,” I answer, rather doubtful. I don’t know how much information I can give away. Never tell your enemy all your secrets. Her lips bend a bit and now she’s giving me a little smile. “Battle of what? Of costumes?” I pucker my lips and frown. She’s making fun of me. Or maybe she’s isn’t even aware of the battle. In Midgard they tend to avoid noticing that kind of things. It’s a separated world. “Where are we?” I answer, feeling my knees totter again. No, I’m not going to fall in front of a woman. Never. She lets a slight skeptical laughter go. At the same time, she looks at me as if I were a rare breed. Probably, I’m a bit out of place in this world. I’m a god. “What do you mean with where? In my greenhouse. You just destroyed it falling from the sky.” “No. Where. What city. What country.” She folds her arms. “In Manhattan, United States of America. It’s obvious.” --------------------------------- END OF THE CHAPTER Next chapter coming soon.

"She is different" (a Loki fanfic) - Chapter 1: A painful landing (1/2) This is fanfic about Loki, the "villain" from the movie The Avengers. It's located before the events on the movie and after what happened on the movie "Thor". Please correct my mistakes. Part 2 of the chapter on my Notebook entries. ------------------------------------- CHAPTER 1 A PAINFUL LANDING I open my eyes slowly and blink to get my eyesight back. The air passes through my lungs again, and I feel a painful pressure over my chest when I breathe. A sudden stabbing pain makes my fists close with a spasm. I must have a broken rib, or maybe more than only one. The floor is very uncomfortable. I feel shattered glass and splintered wood digging into my skin through the cape and the suit. My head palpitates with a regular rhythm, and when I touch my forehead with my hand, my fingers are painted with blood. “Ah—” I close my eyes and relax my muscles. The pain backs off a bit, but I still feel very bad. My memories come back like waves to the beach, suddenly clear. Odin’s expression was disappointed. I had failed him. I had let the spear Gungnir go, the spear Thor was trying to hold me with. My destiny, my purpose, was to die. But instead of that, I remember the fall, the air escaping from my lungs because of the speed, and then all had gone dark. And then I woke up here. I roll to turn face down and I get up tentatively using my hands and knees. I haven’t felt so destroyed since... well, I cannot remember the last time I felt so bad physically. Generally my magic heals my wounds quickly, but this time it seems to be delayed. I stifle a moan, and I thank nobody’s here to see me. I always pride myself in my indestructibility. I stand up. My legs show a slight trembling that I cannot suppress. I close my fists tightly, trying to remain standing without tottering. I don’t have time to examine the surroundings. I hear the sound of someone slamming a door and then I feel quick and feminine footsteps behind me. “Explain this now or I’ll call the police.” Her voice is stern and sweet at the same time, and she doesn’t have the typical Asgardian accent. Something short-circuits inside my brain when I hear her. It’s such a weird feeling that I don’t even answer. ------------------------------- TO BE CONTINUED
