My native language is Japanese, but I am trained and qualified to teach in Australia and I feel more comfortable explaining Japanese in English. This approach can be especially helpful for English-speaking students. For advanced learners, I may use little to no English.

I spent nearly 3 years teaching at the largest Japanese language school in Singapore, where I led classes from beginner to advanced levels, including group lessons, one-on-one sessions, and JLPT preparation courses for N5 and N4. My teaching approach is based on the Direct Method (teaching Japanese in Japanese), which is challenging but highly effective, but I am also fluent in English so you don’t need to worry about any language barriers.
